This photo shows the loco depot with a fuel point and the maintenance centre at Portland, shown to the right of the fuel point.  Red carded wagons are placed on the road in front of the roller door for repairs then a tractor pushes them, one at a time inside the building then the fixed wagon is then pushed through to the other side of this building which is then cleared back to the exchange sidings about one kilometre away.
